Hotel for players and delegations

All teams who have bought the package, are lodged at the same hotel in Copenhagen. The hotel is Scandic Sydhavnen. You can check out the hotel and the facilities here:

Transportation during the tournament

If you bought the package or transportation, you will be picked up at Copenhagen Airport and transported to the hotel.

The playing area is in Karlslunde (Kongens Enge 42, 2690 Karlslunde), which is 25 kilometres from the hotel. In the morning and in the evening, there will be shuttle busses between the hotel and the playing area. If you want to arrange your own transportation during the day, there is a train station 10-15 minutes walk from the playing area.

Want to take the train?

If you want to take the train, the nearest train station is Karlslunde Station. There are no busses in the area, so you must walk between the playing area and the train station.

Going from the playing area to the hotel by train:

Walk from the playing area to the train station called Karlslunde St. (1,4 kilometres). Take the A-line towards the end station called Hillerød St. but get off at the station called Sydhavn St. and walk to the hotel (address: Sydhavns Plads 15, Copenhagen) (350 meters).

Guide to public transportation in Denmark

Travelcards – The cheapest way to travel

You can buy single tickets at the ticket machine (red) at every train station or metro station, but the cheapest way to travel is with a travelcard. It cost around 11 euro to get an anonymous Travelcard plus the amount you deposit on the card.

If you haven’t bought the package with transportation:

We recommend that you buy a travelcard when you arrive at Copenhagen Airport. Walk in the direction of train and metro. On the right side there are some red ticket machines. Here you can buy single tickets. If you want to buy a travelcard, proceed to the two gray machines.

If you want to buy a travelcard elsewhere than the airport – check this map for places to buy travelcards: https://www.rejsekort.dk/Salgssteder

Travelcards

If you want to buy a travelcard near Scandic Hotel, you can buy one in the store Sydhavnen Minimarked. The address is Borgbjergsvej 60, 2450 København SV. The store is open every day from 8.00 in the morning until 22.00 in the evening.

When you have an anonymous travelcard, you can have 29 persons with you on your travel. To use it, you must have at least 9,5 euro on the card, per person you want to check in.

Therefore – If you want to take 3 persons with you (in total 4 persons), there must at least be 38 euro on the card.

Before you travel home, you can get the remaining amount back. You need to go to one of the stores to do this. You can for example get the remaining amount back at Sydhavnen Minimarked.

How to put money on the card:

You can put money on the card in the shop, where you buy a card. See which stores, who can help at this map: https://www.rejsekort.dk/Salgssteder

Or you can use the gray travelcard machines. You find them on every S-train station or metro station. Insert your travelcard into the machine and select the amount you want to deposit on the card. And pay with your credit card.

How to use the travelcard:

When you want to take the train or metro, you must find the machine for check-in. See the picture below. If you want to take the bus, you find the check-in machine inside the bus.

How to check one person in?

Hold the travelcard against the big, blue point at the machine and wait for a bling sound. If the machine says a buzz sound, you aren’t checked in correctly (maybe there aren’t enough money on the card).

How to check more than one person in?

Find a check in machine as the one on the picture. Pres the plus sign as many times as persons who takes the train or metro. Hold the travelcard against the big, blue point at the machine and wait for a bling sound. If the machine says a buzz sound, you aren’t checked in correctly (maybe there aren’t enough money on the card).

If you need to change train, bus, or metro, you have to check-in again on the station, where you change means of transportation. Just hold the travelcard against the blue point at the new station.

Remember to check-out at the end station:

ATTENTION: When you have reached the end station for your journey, it is important that you remember to check-out. See the picture. You check-out by holding the travelcard against the blue point and you will hear a bling sound.

If you forget to check-out, the train company will deduct a larger amount from the card, because the train company can not see, where your journey has stopped.
